Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 2026 • Scope: AlphaClipper Desktop Application & Documentation Website

Maintainer Review Notice

This Privacy Policy reflects the current open-source architecture of the AlphaClipper project under the MIT License. Because this is an active community project, maintainers should review and update this document whenever network capabilities, automatic update checkers, or diagnostics are added to the codebase.

1. Principles and Scope

AlphaClipper is designed as a privacy-focused Windows utility for capturing clipboard history and screen clips. The core philosophy of the application is local-first data processing.

This policy applies to both the desktop software provided in the repository (github.com/PrimeSandy/AlphaClipper) and its associated documentation landing pages.

2. Data Handled by the Desktop Application

  • Clipboard Content: Text strings, code snippets, rich formatting, and bitmap image captures copied to your system clipboard are stored solely within your local Windows user profile directory.
  • Screenshot Files: When you initiate a screen capture, bitmap images are generated and saved strictly to your chosen local disk path.
  • No Remote Transmission by Default: AlphaClipper is architected without a cloud backend, external sync servers, or third-party marketing trackers. Your clips are not sent to any proprietary servers.

3. Website & GitHub Hosting

The AlphaClipper landing page is hosted as a static website on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect technical server access logs (such as IP addresses, browser user-agent headers, and request timestamps) in accordance with GitHub's Privacy Statement to deliver web assets and defend against denial-of-service attacks. No third-party tracking scripts, advertising pixels, or cookies are loaded by AlphaClipper.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because data resides solely on your computer, you have full sovereignty over it. You can clear clipboard history within the application or manually delete the storage folder located in your local Windows application data directory. Uninstalling the application or deleting its portable folder completely removes the software from your system.

5. Changes to This Policy

Any revisions will be committed to the public Git repository with a clear commit history. Users are encouraged to review the repository commits when new releases are tagged.
